In ten short days the American marathon hopefuls will set out to finish in the top three to advance to represent the United States of America in Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Olympics.Runnera will run 26.2 miles throughout the streets of Atlanta, passing several historic sites. They will pass through the area near Martin Luther King Jr’s birthplace, the Famous Fox Theater and 1996 ceremonial Olympic rings a few miles out before they cross the finish line at Centennial Olympic Park.A record number of qualifiers are scheduled for this race to represent team USA as they already have ran a marathon time under 2:45:00 (6:20/mile) for females and 2:19:00 (5:20/mile pace) for the men to be try and beat out 700+ others competing for those 6 spots. I’m excited that I’ll get to be in the mix of all these elite runners too.I’ll be helping out with the course, keep the runners on the course for a smooth race.
