I don’t know where or when the actual Nashville Hot chicken craze started but I know I’m late to the party…well at least for writing this post. My wife was born in New Jersey and puts ketchup on her eggs, I was born in Kentucky and most put black pepper on eggs then in my teens I started putting hot sauce or salsa on my eggs. I tell you how I eat my eggs because I still don’t know which came first the chicken or the egg! Didn’t want a story without both!
Now back to the chicken, Nashville has cornered the hot chicken market. There are several locations that my friends and coworkers say are all top notch, for my most recent trip I went to Hattie B’s.
My coworker who had been there before talked me out of getting their hot or Damn Hot flavor, I went with medium and wished I turned up the heat. Granted it was warm but I like it hot, my nose running and just a bead of sweat running down my forehead.
